What
an awesome opportunity to bless our community!
It is official! We are going to be the distribution Center for HAAM's toy drive. The estimate is that 1,200 people will come through our church, and we will help distribute approximately 6,000 toys.
Here is the Schedule:
Begin Receiving Toy "Drop Offs"
Thursday, Nov. 20 (Our plan is to store them, either in the Storage Room,
or more than likely, the Class Room)
Sort & Sack Days:
Friday, Dec. 12, through Monday, Dec. 15th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, we
can expect between 10 and 20 volunteers from HAAM to be here working. That
Sunday, Dec 14th, we will have toys on display in the worship space.
Distribution Days:
Tuesday, Dec. 16th, through Saturday, Dec. 20th, from 9:00 am to 3:00
pm, we can expect between 300 and 400 people per day, for a total of 1200
folks coming through that week. (We will need to clean the Restrooms every
night, and possibly during the day as well.) This is our main “hospitality” time.
Sunday, Dec 21 , we will again have toys in worship Space
Boxing Days
Monday, Dec. 22, and Tuesday, Dec. 23, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
H.A.A.M. welcomes any assistance you can give by collecting NEW toys.
Listed are a few tips that can make things run more smoothly:
- Collect only new toys. We do not distribute used toys as holiday gifts.
- We prefer to have toys unwrapped.
- Ideally we need toys in hand by Thursday, December 11th. We begin Sort and Sack on December 12th.
- We try to collect toys for children who range in age from toddlers to teens.
- In the past we have had the most difficulty in securing items for the older children.
